"Without change, things stay the same."
I am running for State Representative of District 55 because Connecticut needs change. I want to listen to your concerns and advocate on your behalf in Hartford. I want to provide the necessary support and environment for you and your families to be successful and I want our communities to thrive.
I understand firsthand the struggles of being a small business owner in Connecticut, especially during these difficult times we find ourselves in with the uncertainties COVID-19 has thrust our way.
LAW ENFORCEMENT: I am endorsed by the Connecticut State Police Union and the Hartford Police Union and am incredibly grateful for our police officers and first responders. I appreciate the challenges our local law enforcement face each day. Together, we must ensure our police receive the resources, training, and strategies they need to effectively protect our communities.
TAXES: I believe our State needs to support our businesses and encourage growth, while providing better incentive for our residents to remain in Connecticut. Taxes and fees mandated for a specific purpose should only be allocated for that purpose and should not be diverted to fill other budget shortfalls.
EDUCATION: The challenges we face in 2020 showcase our need to support our educators. Education should continually be reinvented and adapted to meet the needs of our students and families. The unfunded mandates levied on our education system need to be reviewed. Each mandate removes local decision making and budgetary flexibility, decreasing our educators' ability to innovate.
MILITARY: We have to remember and support our Veterans and active service members who selflessly serve our country and defend our freedom. The United States was built on the backs of those who served our country and I will never forget their sacrifices. As State Representative, I will advocate on their behalf.
